How does a spirit change after centuries in a tropical exile? Borrowing ritual technologies of Venezuelan Spiritism and the sonic agency of Iberian and pre-Columbian ceramic figurines, this work enacts a spiritual repatriation of Viking entities. In collaboration with Marcus Price and Olle Strandberg Collins, the work explores the migration of the soul, presenting entities that have been radically altered through syncretic coexistence with Afro-Indigenous and Christian deities. These transformed spirits are summoned into the friction of a Swed ish society in flux, acting as a catalyst for dialogue on tension, herit age, and belonging. The ritual is articulated through a cacophony of ceramic aerophones and rattles layered with sampled motifs in a celebration of the resonating potential of clay.
